Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen

Kevin Hendrickx

Kevin Hendrickx studies composition and conducting at the Royal Conservatory Ghent under Daan Janssens and Kristiina Poska. As a conductor, he is currently associated with Continuo, Leuvens Universitair Koor and Roeselaars Kamerkoor.

Prior to his studies at the Ghent Conservatory, Kevin studied choral and orchestral conducting under Geert Hendrix and Bart Piqueur. He took part in masterclasses with conductors such as Martin Sieghart, Alexander Polyanichko and Dejan Savić.

In recent years he has worked with the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra, Budapest Symphony Orchestra MAV, London Classical Soloists, Youth Orchestra St. Petersburg, Orchestra da camera Fiorentina, the Symphony Orchestra of KASK & Conservatory Ghent and the orchestra of the Bulgarian State Opera Stara Zagora, among others. Besides his work as an orchestra conductor, he is also active as a choral conductor with several Belgian choirs and can be seen at work with the Kammerchor Stuttgart next season.

His love for contemporary classical music led to collaborations with the Nemø ensemble, the SPECTRA ensemble and the creation of several new works at the Ghent Conservatory under his direction. 20th- and 21st-century repertoire also plays an important role in the programmation of his own ensembles.
