Free live concert with young conductors
Marco Crispo, Chunyi Zhao and Matthew Rhodes: these three conductors will participate in the FSO-SPECTRA Conducting Masterclass. This is already the fourth edition of the international masterclass for young conductors.
About the FSO-SPECTRA Conducting Masterclass
During three days, some young conducting talents are given the opportunity to work together with our orchestra, under the direction of experienced conductors. Master and apprentice, side by side! Together they study some absolute repertoire pieces and the magical art of conducting.
Edition june 2023
From 15 to 18 June the latest edition of the masterclass for young conductors takes place in Muziekcentrum De Bijloke Ghent. This year focusing on Symphony no. 1 of Johannes Brahms and on new music. We offer participants the rare opportunity to work with a professional orchestra and ensemble under the guidance of two experienced conductors. Together with Prof. conductor Christian Ehwald and SPECTRA’s artistic leader Filip Rathé, the participants will explore the art of conducting, study the repertoire and share experiences with like-minded artists.
Free closing concert on Sunday June 18th
As a grand finale to the masterclasses, the three candidates will take place in front of the orchestra in a public concert in Muziekcentrum De Bijloke Ghent. Don't forget to reserve your free ticket and join us!
