Season 2020-21 FAQ

Our priority: to offer you a concert experience that is both safe and qualitative. That is why we are in constant dialogue with our partners and governments to take the necessary security measures. Below we explain these measures in question and answer.

1. Will the activities continue?

On Tuesday evening, October 27, the Flemish Government announced the complete closure of all culture houses. We are forced to say goodbye to the stage for a little while. We will continue to work behind the scenes and get ready to play for you again in healthier times.

The following activities are canceled:

  • the family performance Gekrijs
  • the Mozart concert series in Prague
  • the international Clarinet Competition

2. What does the programme look like?

As long as the social distance rule of 1,5m continues to apply, we are forced to limit the space on stage. Our musicians will play in a reduced string line-up. As a result, the programme has some changes this season. Consult our full programme via our concert agenda.

3. When does the ticket sale for the concerts planned from February onwards starts?

We hope to restart our ticket sales in 2021. More clarity about this will follow in January. We will notify you through our newsletter, social media channels and website. Make sure you follow us to receive any update.

4. What about subscriptions?

We do not offer subscriptions in the 2020-21 season. Due to the security measures we are limited in the number of seats and we cannot guarantee fixed places. Season 2019-20 subscription holders can buy single tickets at a subscription rate.

5. What if a concert is sold out?

For sold-out performances you can put yourself on the waiting list by sending an email to tickets@symfonieorkest.be. We will inform you personally when the room capacity increases or more places become available.

6. How is the seating plan organised?

We offer a limited number of seats per concert, respecting the maximum imposed by the government. The exact seating plan can differ per location, depending on the organization and capacity of the hall itself. Hosts will guide you in this new situation.

7. When can I use my concert voucher?

Tickets to the concerts in Antwerp, Brussels and Bruges that were canceled as a result of COVID-19 could be converted into a voucher. You can use this voucher when purchasing multiple individual tickets. You can do so by contacting our ticketing staff by telephone or e-mail.

8. How do I prepare for a concert as a visitor?

Some time before the concert date, we will send all ticket buyers an email with all the practical information. Go through the following checklist before the visit:

  • Stay at home when you feel ill
  • Buy your ticket in advance
  • Wear a mouth mask
  • Keep your social distance from the other concertgoers
  • Wash and disinfect your hands regularly

9. What if I buy tickets and the concert is canceled?

If, due to the Coronavirus, we have to cancel concerts, for which you already bought a ticket, we will inform you personally. The value of your ticket will either be refunded or replaced by a voucher.

10. How do I keep up to date with the latest information?

We closely follow the federal guidelines and adapt to the applicable safety standards. Our concert calendar will always cover the most recent programme. When a situation changes, we will notify our visitors through our electronic newsletter, website and Facebook page.
