At Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen vzw we are well aware of the trust you place in us. We therefore consider it our responsibility to protect your privacy. On this page we inform you about the data we collect when you use our website and/or buy tickets, why we collect this data, and what we do with it, so you will understand exactly how we work.

By accessing and using the website you expressly agree to the following general terms and conditions. Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen vzw observes the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in this regard. This is a whole of European rules that have been established to protect citizens with regard to the use of personal data.

Cookies

This website uses cookies. A cookie is a small file that is sent along with certain pages by the website and that is stored by your browser. We use cookies, on the one hand, to facilitate the use of our webshop for tickets and to enable you to log on to our website. On the other hand, we use Google Analytics cookies to consult anonymised user statistics of this website. Read the privacy policy of Google here.


Without cookies it is not possible to order tickets on this website. The website cannot transfer information on your order to the next page if your cookies have been disabled. You can disable cookies through your browser, but keep in mind that certain functionalities of the website will no longer work.
 

Processing of personal data

Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen vzw processes and uses personal data to be able to provide services and communicate offers and content. This may concern personal identity data such as name, first name, address, email address, telephone number. We also keep track of your order history and any discounts you received. We only use the collected data for the purposes for which the data was provided. Your data will be retained for 5 years after the your last ticket purchase.


Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen vzw collects personal data in the following ways:
 

● Registration through ticket purchase

If you purchase a ticket, your data will be registered. You enter this data yourself when creating your account on our website. This data is maintained in the CRM of our ticketing software. Your email address will only be used to ensure the processing of your ticket(s) and to keep you informed of concert-related information, if any. We may also inform you about similar concerts at a later time.


● Registration resulting from your explicit consent

Through the website and via info@symfonieorkest.be you can register for our printed communications or our newsletter. By registering you give us your explicit consent to keep you informed through the channel of your choice. You can deregister or change your registration at any time.


● Audience images

During concerts, a photographer may be present who shoots atmospheric photos. These photos may be published on our website or through social media. This particularly involves images of the musicians and atmospheric photos of the audience. It may occasionally happen that you can be recognised in one of the photos as a spectator. All photos are stored in the secure network of Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen vzw.

Some concerts are filmed. This footage may afterwards be edited to promotional videos, which may be published on the website, on Facebook, via a newsletter and/or on the YouTube channel of Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen vzw. Members of the audience may be recognised in these videos, though there is no particular focus on faces.


Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen vzw processes personal data for the following purposes:

● Use of our services (contractual basis);

When you register for buying tickets, we ask you to provide personal data. This data is used for the provision of our services. A ticket for a performance is personal, and data is required for:

> delivering the tickets
> access control
> determining the rates
> service mailing before and/or after your visit
> contacting you in the event of a programme change or cancellation


The data is stored on secure servers of our own ticketing software and our website provider or their suppliers. We will not combine this data with other personal details that we have at our disposal.


● Communication (legal: legitimate interest);

When you send an email or regular mail to us, we may retain these messages. We sometimes ask for your personal details that are relevant to the situation in question. This enables us to process your questions and respond to your requests. The data is stored and secured. We will not combine this data with other personal details that we have at our disposal. 

Occasionally, Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen vzw sends emails with an offer for performances that tie in with a recent visit of our customers. Each year, Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen vzw also sends a paper seasonal brochure based on recent purchases or registrations.

● Marketing (legal: consent);

Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen vzw uses personal data for marketing purposes. We regularly send information about our current programme, both in hardcopy and electronically. Everyone is free to register for or deregister from these communications.
 

> Newsletter: you register for or deregister from the general newsletter. You can easily register through the website. You can deregister through a link at the bottom of the newsletter or by sending an email to info@symfonieorkest.be. You will not be registered for newsletters automatically on the basis of your purchases.
> Paper magazine: Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen vzw sends a quarterly magazine on the basis of registration or a recent concert visit. You can register through the website.

Provision to third parties

We may provide the data we receive from you to third parties if this is necessary for achieving the aforementioned purposes. For example, in case of a co-production of performances, Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen vzw may occasionally share personal data with one of its partners, in order to provide its services. This may concern shared ticket sales, administrative processing or joint communication around a concert.

All above-mentioned organisations observe the rules as set out in the GDPR.


Ticket network

Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen vzw participates in a ticket network that works with ‘SRO’ ticketing software. The personal data (contact details) of customers is stored in this ticket network. This data may only be used by another organisation if you order tickets for an event that is jointly organised by Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen vzw and this organisation, and only for the provision of the services of this organisation. Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen vzw makes agreements with its partners on the network to make sure that all participants take the necessary technical and organisational measures for the protection of this data.


> The following organisations use this ticket network: In&Uit Brugge (Brugge Plus vzw), KAAP, Flanders Symphony Orchestra, MAfestival, Museums of Bruges, Bruges Cultural Centre, Concertgebouw Brugge, MOOOV, Uitloket Oostende, MuZee, CC De Grote Post, Ostend Tourism, TaZ, CC Mechelen, Uit in Mechelen, Museums of Mechelen, OC De Kleine Beer (Beernem), CC De Schakel (Waregem), CC De Brouckère (Torhout), GC De Groene Meersen (Zedelgem), Zedelgem Culture and Tourism office, Staf Versluys Centre (Bredene), Flanders International Tattoo.

> Why this ticket network? This network was launched under the direction of Brugge Plus vzw in order to join our forces within the context of a commissions centre among cultural organisations. This offers several advantages. The shared database allows Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen vzw to provide better customer service together with the co-producing organisations.


We will not transfer the data that was provided by you to third parties, unless this is required and permitted by law. We do not provide personal data to parties established outside the EU.


Your rights regarding your data

We offer all visitors the opportunity to access, alter, or remove all personal data they have provided to us. In your account on our website and at the bottom of every mailing you will find the option to adjust your data and manage your registration for the newsletter and our printed communications. Here you will also find the option to deregister from all emails. In that case you will no longer receive any service emails or other emails either. As a result, you may miss potential programme changes or other useful information.

If you want to erase you order history completely, you can also contact us via info@symfonieorkest.be. In that case we will remove your name, email address and order history from our systems.

The date and version number will always be shown at the bottom of this page. The amendments automatically take effect on publication.
