A true European at heart (from French, Danish and Polish origin) he studied at the Royal College of Music, London. The distinguished Britisch conductor holds the positions of Chief Conductor and Artistic Director of the Flanders Symphony Orchestra (since 2013) and Chief Conductor of the Novaya Opera Theatre in Moscow (since 2011) following the music-directorship of many renowned opera houses including Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma and both the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg and Opéra among others. 


Prize-winner of the Golden Mask national theatrical prize in the Opera/Best Conductor nomination for Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde in 2014, Latham-Koenig has appeared and is in demand as a guest conductor with orchestras and opera houses world-wide including the Teatro Comunale in Florence, RAI Turin and the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome, Vienna State, Covent Garden, the Opèra National Paris-Bastille and the operas of Berlin, Hamburg, Rome, Lisbon and Santiago in Chile.
