With “a voice of silvery clarity and brightness” (Bachtrack) and “an impeccably produced and seductive tone coupled with outstanding musical craftsmanship” (Opera News), soprano Chen Reiss became known as a member of the Bavarian State Opera ensemble and as a resident artist at the Vienna State Opera.
Highlights of the 2024/25 season include her stage debut as Mozart's Contessa at the Welsh National Opera, the title role in Schumann's Genoveva at the Köln Philharmonie, and her debut in Vaughan Williams' A Sea Symphony with Tarmo Peltokoski and the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse, as well as collaborations with conductors such as Christoph Eschenbach, Zubin Mehta, Ivor Bolton, Lahav Shani and Alain Altinoglu.
Recent highlights include the position of Artist in Residence with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, the First Christmas Concert of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra conducted by Klaus Mäkelä, and her debuts in Beethoven's Missa Solemnis at the Philharmonie de Paris, Mahler's Das klagende Lied at the Leipzig Gewandhaus Mahler Festival, and Dvořák's Stabat Mater.
