On Beethoven’s 250th birthday we mark the occasion with his most iconic work. The Fifth: a work that still gets to the core of our humanity. Nothing of this darkness can be perceived in his Romance for violin and orchestra, however. And Rossini is a master of light as well. Finally, just like Beethoven, Liszt looked many decades ahead with his piano music: beyond the boundaries of the audible.
