Symphony no. 4 ‘Italian'
In this final programme of the season, we hear the call of summer holidays and dream of journeys that broaden our view. Italian composer Sollima embodies the multicultural spirit of Palermo. With Mediterranean echoes, Spasimo is an eclectic journey: imagine citrus trees and sea air as the city comes alive. Mendelssohn’s “Italian” Symphony leads us through Italy, which he started writing at twenty during a European tour. Suitcase ready?
