Baroque Song
After winning the first Queen Elisabeth Cello Competition in 2017, Victor Julien-Laferrière established himself as a versatile conductor. In this programme, he takes on a double role: soloist and conductor. He guides us through 400 years of music, from Baroque back to Baroque. From Bach’s Third Orchestral Suite and its famous Air to Saint-Saëns’s First Cello Concerto, via Mozart’s Haffner Symphony to Escaich, whose Baroque Song reflects Bach.
