SOV Young, the symphonic youth orchestra of Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen, is getting ready for a brilliant Easter project. These young people, aged between 14 and 20, work together for a whole week under the direction of Martijn Dendievel. The finale will be two public concerts.

The Easter project of the youth orchestra SOV Young focuses on Mozart, Mendelssohn and Dvořák. The young musicians, aged between 14 and 20, will be coached throughout the week by musicians from Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen. Under the direction of conductor Martijn Dendievel, they will perform in final concerts in Ghent and Koksijde.
During this project, a young soloist from the SOV will also share the stage with the youth orchestra. For the 2024-25 edition, we were looking for a young violinist to play Felix Mendelssohn's Concerto for Violin in E minor as a soloist. Two soloists were selected from the auditions. Ruben Ide (20) will perform at the SOV Young Concert on 19 April at the Miry Concert Hall. Georgia Koumentakou (12) will be the soloist at the SOV Young concert on 21 April in Koksijde.
