The autumn project of the SOV Young youth orchestra focuses on Tchaikovsky, Bruch and a brand-new one-minute symphony by Ramses Vandewalle as part of the SOV Composers’ Academy. The young musicians, aged between 14 and 20, will be coached throughout the week by musicians from Flanders Symphony Orchestra. Under the baton of conductor Lars Corijn, they will shine during the final concerts in Bruges, Ghent and Krikkrak Festival.
During this project, an SOV Young soloist will also share the stage with the youth orchestra. A young cellist aged between 12 and 20 will perform the solo part in Max Bruch’s Kol Nidrei.
The young musicians will conclude with the Suite from Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake. The most famous orchestral pieces from this fantastic ballet will be performed. Feel free to sway gently in your seat and let yourself be carried away by the dreamlike music of one of Tchaikovsky’s best-known works.
