For several seasons now, young people between 14 and 20 have found their way to SOV Young, the symphonic youth orchestra of Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen. New since season 2023-24: as part of SOV Young Soloist, a young soloist will accompany them on stage. For season 2024-25, we went in search of a violinist.
In collaboration with KASK & Conservatory
For the 2024-25 edition, we were looking for a young violinist to solo in the Concerto for violin in E by Felix Mendelssohn. This project will take place from 17 to 21 April 2025. The orchestra is conducted by conductor Martijn Dendievel.
Two soloists were chosen from the auditions. Ruben Ide (20) will perform during the SOV Young concert on 19 April in the Miry Concert Hall in Ghent. Georgia Koumentakou (12) will perform at the SOV Young concert on 21 April in Koksijde.
